Privacy notice

This notice covers the Voice Guide Generator, the free tool that reads a writing sample and returns a mini voice guide, and the emails that follow from it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Piotr Solarski, trading as Forge Lead, 24 Bidwell Road, Banbury, OX16 9ZL, United Kingdom, is the data controller. Forge Lead is a sole trader, not a limited company, so there is no company number to give you. Being the controller means the decisions about what is collected and why are mine, and so is the responsibility when something goes wrong.

2. The writing sample you paste

This is the part worth reading properly, because it is the part people assume.

When you paste your posts into the tool, that text is sent to Anthropic, an AI provider, which analyses it and returns the guide. The text is not saved to my database. What gets saved is the number of characters you pasted and nothing else. There is no column anywhere holding your writing.

Anthropic processes the text to produce the response and does not use it to train its models. Their terms are at anthropic.com/legal/privacy. If you would rather no AI provider ever saw a word of your writing, the honest answer is not to use the tool.

Do not paste anything confidential, anything covered by an NDA, or anything containing other people's personal details. The tool is built for published LinkedIn posts.

3. What else is collected

Your email address, because that is where the guide goes.
Your first name, if you give it. It is optional and only used to address the email.
The generated guide itself, so it can be sent to you and re-sent if the first email fails.
The exact consent wording you agreed to, stored word for word. If anyone ever asks what you actually ticked, I would rather have the answer than a guess.
A one-way hash of your IP address, salted, used only to enforce a limit of three analyses per hour so the tool is not trivially expensive to abuse. The raw IP is never written to the database and the hash cannot be reversed back to an address.
Your browser's user agent string, for the same abuse-prevention reason.
The detected language of your sample, so the guide comes back in the language you write in.

4. Why, and on what legal basis

To generate and send your guide: consent. You ticked a box. You can withdraw it at any time and that does not make what happened before unlawful, it just stops what happens next.
To send you occasional emails about Forge Lead: consent, given in the same box. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works on the first click.
To stop the tool being abused: legitimate interests. Running a free AI tool with no rate limit is an invitation. The hashed IP exists for that and nothing else, and I have taken the least identifying approach available.

5. Who else touches it

These are my processors. Each one is contracted to handle your data only on my instructions.

Anthropic, United States. Analyses the writing sample. Does not receive your email address or your name.
Cloudflare, hosting and database. Stores the lead record.
HighLevel, via AMW Media, the CRM that holds the contact record and sends the email.

Some of these are outside the UK, which means your data is transferred internationally. Those transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the equivalent standard contractual clauses. Nobody buys your data from me, because I do not sell it.

6. How long it is kept

The writing sample: never stored, so nothing to keep.
The generated guide, held server-side between the analysis and the email capture: one hour, then deleted automatically whether or not you finished.
The rate limiting records: one hour.
Your lead record, including the guide and the consent evidence: 24 months after our last contact, then deleted. Sooner if you ask.

7. What you can require of me

Under UK GDPR you can ask me to:

tell you what I hold about you, and give you a copy
correct anything wrong
delete it
stop or restrict what I am doing with it
hand it over in a portable format
object to processing based on legitimate interests
withdraw your consent, which you can also do by clicking unsubscribe

Email [email protected] and it gets done within one month, usually the same week. There is no charge and you do not have to explain why.

8. If I get it wrong

Tell me first, because I would rather fix it than read about it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113, and you can do that without telling me at all.

9. Cookies

The Voice Guide Generator sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie for security. The main Forge Lead site is built on HighLevel and may set its own, which its own notice covers.

10. Changes

If this notice changes in a way that affects what happens to data I already hold, I will email the people it affects rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
